ComiLog

Privacy Policy

1. Overview

This app stores book and comic information registered by the user locally on the device. Some features involve anonymous usage statistics for service improvement and communication with external APIs to retrieve book information. We do not collect personally identifiable information such as names, email addresses, or phone numbers.

2. Data Collected and Purpose of Use

2-1. Data Primarily Stored on Your Device

The following data is primarily stored on your device. If you explicitly use online search, release-date lookup, a missing-title request, or backup, only the data needed for that feature is sent to the external services described below.

  • Series information registered by the user (title, volume count, author, publisher, status, tags, notes, etc.)
  • Image data registered by the user (cover photos, etc.)
  • App settings and theme preferences
2-2. Usage Statistics and Crash Information (Firebase)

After you accept the Terms, we use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC) to improve features and fix bugs. Information collected includes the following.

  • Screen navigation and feature usage (e.g., series additions, backup operations)
  • In-app action logs (which features are used, etc. — no personal data such as book titles is included)
  • Device information (OS version, model name, language settings, etc.)
  • Anonymized user properties (e.g., range of registered series count)
  • Crash stack traces, app state, and Firebase installation identifiers

Book titles, author names, notes, and images are not sent as Firebase Analytics event parameters. For details, please refer to Google's Privacy Policy.

2-3. ISBN Lookup / Barcode Scan

When you use the automatic book information retrieval feature via barcode scan or ISBN entry, the ISBN code is sent to the following external APIs to retrieve bibliographic information.

  • OpenBD API (operated by Hanmoto.com / Calil) — Used to retrieve book information for Japanese titles. Only the ISBN code is sent. Privacy Policy: https://openbd.jp/
  • Google Books API (Google LLC) — Used for overseas titles and as a fallback for Japanese titles. Only the ISBN code is sent. Privacy Policy: Google Privacy Policy

This feature only operates when you perform a barcode scan or ISBN entry.

2-4. Online Title, Author, and Release-Date Search

When you run an online title or author search, or request a next-volume release date, the search terms you entered or the relevant series title and next volume number may be sent to NDL Search and the Google Books API. Bibliographic information and cover-image URLs may be returned.

2-5. Missing-Title Requests

When you tap the button to request a missing title, the entered search term, language, app name and version, and device information (such as OS and model) are sent to Google Forms. No name or reply email address is sent.

2-6. Remote Configuration (Firebase Remote Config)

After you accept the Terms, we use Firebase Remote Config (Google LLC) to retrieve app configuration settings from the server.

2-7. Anime Title Search (AniList)

When you search for an anime title, the search terms you entered are sent to the AniList API (AniList Co.). Titles, episode counts, and broadcast information may be returned. No personally identifiable information is sent. Terms: https://anilist.co/terms

2-8. ComiLog Delivery Server (showgo.dev)

When matching release dates for new volumes, the titles of your registered series and the series IDs assigned within the app are sent to the developer's server (showgo.dev). Release dates and volume numbers are returned. ISBNs, images, memos, and tags are not sent.

The app also connects to the same server to deliver in-app notices and to update the bundled title database. In those cases only the information needed to identify what to fetch is sent; none of your registered content is transmitted.

The server stores only the title strings used for matching and the results of that matching. No personally identifiable information such as names or email addresses is collected.

2-9. Premium (One-Time Purchase)

When you purchase or restore Premium, the purchase token and order information are processed through Google Play Billing (Google LLC). Payment is handled by Google; the developer never receives payment details such as credit card numbers. See the Google Privacy Policy for details.

3. Affiliate Programs

This app participates in the Rakuten Affiliate Program and the Amazon Associates Program. Tapping a purchase link marked "PR" on the series detail, To Buy, or For You screens will direct you to a search page on Rakuten Books or Amazon.co.jp via a URL that includes the developer's affiliate ID or associate tag.

  • Only the affiliate ID or associate tag and a book title search query generated by the app are sent. No personal information of the user is transmitted.
  • Links to Rakuten Books pass through the Rakuten Affiliate tracking redirect (hb.afl.rakuten.co.jp).
  • If a user makes a purchase on those sites, the developer may receive an affiliate commission. No additional cost is passed on to the purchaser.
  • Browsing and purchasing on those sites is subject to the Rakuten Group Privacy Policy or the Amazon Privacy Notice.

4. Advertising

This app may display advertisements. Advertising services (such as Google AdMob) may collect the following information.

  • Advertising ID
  • Device information (OS, model name)
  • App usage logs

This information is used to optimize ad delivery and does not identify individuals. For details, please refer to Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Backup Feature

If you choose to use the backup feature, your data will be saved to a location of your choosing (device storage, Google Drive, etc.). If you choose to back up to Google Drive, Google's Privacy Policy applies. The developer cannot access this backup data.

6. Data Deletion

You can delete local data at any time by the following methods.

  • Delete registered series individually within the app
  • Uninstall the app (all local data will be permanently deleted)

Deletion of statistical data collected by Firebase Analytics is subject to Google's policies.

7. Security

Data stored locally depends on the security settings of your device (screen lock, encryption, etc.). Please manage your device security appropriately.

8. Policy Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated as needed. In the event of significant changes, we will notify you within the app or on the website.
